All-Inclusive

Hey Everyone,

So I thought if I am to assist in coordinating this, I better start throwing out some information. I did a google search on all-inclusive vacations. I found out that you can book these through Expedia or Obitz, etc – did everyone know that? The closest that I could see to California is Mexico. How does everyone feel about Mexico? And the prices were really reasonable.

Our date is going to be the trickiest. It looks like we are narrowing down to February, March or Spring (before peach picking). The date is our priority, it looks like either the teacher camp or student camp will have to give in. In either case, it will be such a magnificent time that it will be well worth the time off for all of us!

I would like to create a tally in this comment section for
  • 1. All-inclusive in Mexico
  • 2. Beach house in San Diego, CA
  • 3. Beach house in Pismo, CA
  • 4. Other Please insert idea: ______________________).
FYI, my vote is for Mexico or SanDiego. ~ Andrea

  1. When Allie and I were on our honeymoon we went to Mexico and totally thought it would be a lot of fun to go with a bigger group. The resorts have all kinds of activities to do there. I think Mexico sounds pretty awesome. How much are we talking? Are we talking Baja side or Cancun side? My second place vote would probably be San Diego. There we could go to Sea World the Zoo, hang out at the beach. I think San Diego could probably be done more inexpensively. I think in either case the warmer it gets the better, so maybe March or early April would be my vote.

  2. Mexico is definately my vote. a beach house sounds nice but there will obviously be some chores and whatnot - dishes etc. which is fine- it's not a tonne of work. but my experience of groups at all inclusives is wonderful. everyone just kinda ends up together over breakfast, people discuss what their plans are for the day, individuals join whichever group is doing the activity they feel like, and they go off without having to worry about or do abolutely anything. a tonne of activities are onsight so people don't even need to leave the resort most days and still have plenty to do.
i think an all inclusive would be easiest on everyone. and my experience of them is that they are easily cheaper than any other type of vacation. so i'm all for the all inclusive........but i'd definately be drawn wherever all you wonderful folk headed!

  4. Now, doesn't half of the family already have timeshares with RCI? Is that something we should explore for 2010? Whether it is San Diego or Mexico? I know my parents have it, Dave and Marge do and maybe James and HeatherAnn? Is that something to consider to narrow down the locations? Aunt Marge is the expert on that stuff so maybe she could answer that one.

  5. coming from the student camp... its hard for me to miss school.. unless its a death of an immediate family member or grandparent its not excused and for the whole semester i can only miss three classes before getting dropped... i also dont know what RCI even means.. but i am down for the cheapest/funnest (ya its a word.) location. with us penners i am pretty sure we can make fun wherever we go.

o and i just realized that no one else in my immediate family has checked this site. i will start working on that..

  6. All Inclusive to Mexico or beach house in San Diego...can't go wrong with either of them! I do think the all inclusive would be better for the group. Like Joycee was saying about the entertainment factor and not having to clean...those are 2 big bonuses. And no one would have to cook or clean up the meal! And if we are at a beach house and we go out for a meal than we have to have separate checks for everyone or someone foots the bill which is not good. I think for our size group an all inclusive to Mexico would be a better option.

  7. Hey Guys!
My Mom and Dads holidays starts in June 28th and ends at the end of August for 2010. For our March Break it starts on the 13th to the 21st but I guess this wouldnt work for the University Students.

My parents are open to any of the options depending on prices and for moi I'm all for the all inclusive in Mexico! :D

  8. Hey all! I think if we had to vote, the Moore family (Scott, Sheri & Maddie) would go for an all inclusive in Mexico. However, I will also say that we are very flexible and would be happy to go with whatever suits others the best. Anywhere, anytime.
    Thanks Andrea!
